Anyway, a few months ago I was became really unhappy with my editing style. I wanted something timeless. I love this! Great prayer :)  I truly love Valentine’s Day. I’m not into the flowers or the gaudy decorations, but having a special day to celebrate love has always been sweet to me. We never go crazy on Valentine’s Day. Neither of us have gifts as our love language…which works out rather nicely. We’d much rather spend the evening cuddled… 24 comments

Are you a candle lover, too? :) I worked until 4:00 and Josh didn’t get home until 9:00, but we still managed to have a sweet evening of cheesecake and wine. He even brought me my favorite treat from Whole Foods: homemade tortilla chips and guacamole! Teehee.

Aw. What a sweet way to spend Valentines day! My husband and I don’t really get into this holiday but we got each other silly cards over the weekend and he took me out to dinner yesterday and we got to snuggle and started “Lost” (we have this thing with starting TV series! It’s how we both rest – we just finished The Dead Zone, which despite it’s name is actually really good!) It’s a rare occasion for us to spend time together during the week so it was special. :) 
Looks like an amazing night! Beautiful photos! I was sick on Valentine’s Day so I stayed home and my hubby and son went out to dinner with the family.

Jennifer, when I was reading this I couldn’t stop thinking about a book that I love called “What Women Fear” by Angie Smith. She addresses a lot of the things you mentioned in this post, and I totally think that you should take a look at it! Nevertheless, I doubt your business is going to “fail”- you’re a phenomenal photographer! Keep persevering in obedience in the name of Christ, and the blessings will follow! :]

Putting your trust and faith in the Lord’s plan is always a safe bet. Knowing He loves us and wants the best for each of us is always a comfort. He has a plan for each of us, far greater than the one we can create for ourselves. You are an inspiration to so many, including me and your faith is motivating! 
i know EXACTLY what you are talking about…this subject has been on my heart for a few months now and God has been really opening my eyes to alot of things. 
I have dealt with this same thing but realized that fear does not deserve to hold my attention and will not have a place in my life! And our Father has the BEST plan for us, it is much better than we could ever imagine if we can let go of our fear and follow him wholeheartedly. :) Great post! Thanks

Hi Jennifer :) I just started reading your blog thanks to bloglovin. Its interesting that you say you are fearing that you either won’t please God or won’t succeed. Fear tends to pull us in extreme directions so we feel like we are on a tight rope. But you know what? We are on a solid rock. And God despises wasted talent as much as you do. As long as you are acknowledging him in your work and remain grateful for every blessing he pours on you, you’re in good hands. Actually you are always in good hands… so no worries. Just enjoy it all! 
God sees your heart and He knows that you are trying your best to serve Him. The more you put Him first, the more He will show you the way. It IS such a tough balance of business + personal life + eternal life but it shouldn’t be. I find when I follow [or rather, try my best to follow -- because I often fail] the Holy Spirit’s leading in every area, He faithfully directs my steps. He alone will help you get the right balance. :) 
Your words are very much appreciated. I can see the Lord weaving a stronger faith within you and that makes me smile. He will catch you when you jump. 
Girl, I struggle with the same things- the idea of being “successful” as a small business owner/artist and the idea of living soley for the glory of God. I worrry about financial stuff- how is this really going to work out? But I know God’s in control and if I concern myself with His will and bringing glory to Him, He will take care of me, even when it doesn’t make sense to the world.

Oh this is such a good word! I love that quote from Frances Chan. I fear that too. And sometimes I forget to stop and question if what I’m doing really has eternal impact. And that is what I desire more than anything else. I just need to live like it!! 
Its like you read my mind ! Ive been dealing with this for so long, but reading this really brought me freedom. Its so hard but Im glad I’m not the only one who has gone through the same thing.. HOW darling and sweet IS SHE!?? Oh my goodness Jennifer, what a darling little sister, Happy Bday to her! Being born in January, if she’s anything like my daughter she will be an over-achiever, lol. I love these shots so much, that one in the car with the side mirror and the one with the side by side of you and your other sis, and then the ones near the water, GASP!

Isn’t being a big sister one of the most amazing blessings? I LOVED reading this post! It made me want to go on a ‘sisters date’ soon. I am so thankful for my little sister. It is so much fun pouring into her and being the kind of “older” big sister that I would have liked to have had. I love encouraging her to try new things… like red lipstick and clothes that she wouldn’t normally pick out for herself. (Couldn’t help but notice your little sis rockin’ the red lips too!) But more importantly I love pouring into her soul and encouraging her to love Jesus. I really think that big sisters have such a special place in their siblings hearts to pour into like no other! You are so blessed to have each other! 
I so remember Limited Too! Ahh going in there when I was younger was like walking into girl heaven haha! Loved reading about your relationship with your sisters, I have two sisters as well and I agree there is nothing like the bond of sisterhood. Mine are my best friends!

She is so very cute. And I TOTALLY remember Limited Too….I think my whole wardrobe was from there. Aww. I kind of miss my Limited Too leggings and matching hair scrunchies. :) 
Wow she got rid of her dollhouse already! I teach 8-9 year olds…it is funny to see how many of them like to think of themselves as grown ups…but it also makes me sad…like kids don’t want to enjoy childhood anymore. Such a wonderful day to spend with your family…I bet they love the photoshoots!

This is gold! Thanks for sharing some of your secrets! :) The before and afters really show off your photographer’s eye. The raw images are stunning, and you know just how to coax the color out of them for a perfect finished product!

Wow, I have never heard of that program! I currently use corel paintshop, but I feel like I only know how to do 25% of the editing on that program! There seems to be so many options on editing alone and I could edit one pic for 40 min lol

Cool Tiffany! I’ve never heard of paintshop! I didn’t take any classes, although they probably would have been helpful! I just learned by trial and error…lots of error! Hehe!
It looks like a great editing program! I’m really going to look into it~ thanks for sharing with us.
I’m also a minimalist when it comes to editing. I think less is more.:)
