Do you ever feel so immersed in the beauty of nature that it takes you to a dreamy sort of state? On our vacation I almost felt like I could inhale the mountains with the breeze. I don’t think I could ever become so accustom to the sound of a babbling brook or a cascading…

Monthly Archives: July 2011A few weekends ago, me and a few of my friends went to spend the day at the beach. We were celebrating my friend Leigh’s upcoming marriage. Sure, it has it’s challenges, but it is so worth it. Jonathan and I were 22 and 21 when we got married over a year ago. We were (and still are) young, but it was very clear… Cute post, cute pics! xx Gah. This is so uplifting and happy. I love it. You two are so blessed. :) I love what you wrote. God has blessed you with marriage to a wonderful, God-fearing man and what a blessing it is. :) This leaves me with a hopefulness that someday I will marry a good Christian man and enjoy the precious gift of marriage with him. Jennifer, I love this. You are an angel. Amazing words. xox! So lovely to read this! We celebrate our 3rd year anniversary this week and this sparks the love I want to have for him even more! :) Cheers for that beautiful love of yours. Hope it continues like that and that each and every day your love only becomes stronger. I am not married but if I ever do I hope to have a similar experience of it :) x Marielle Thank you for this inspiring post!! I loved every word…the mystery of marriage- I don't think I will ever get over it!! Lovely photos and post! And that quote…I want that eventually.Right now I'm going to go where God leads me and wait. Such true words! I was just telling Daniel last night how amazing it is just to fall asleep with him every night. The little things in life. I'm praying those same things:-) xoxo "When the LORD leads you to the man or woman He has for you, marriage is a huge blessing not a burden." I could not agree with this more. In fact, I find being married to be much easier than NOT being married. I really like that quote! I think it's SO important to not take love for granted. I hope to never be lax in my relationship or take advantage of what I have. Glad you are enjoying your love and time you have together! Jennifer your relationship with your husband is always so encouraging to me as I wait for the man God has. Through your story I am encouraged to be still and patient. And it's also lovely to see how two people can be called to service together and i want that so much. thanks for sharing. wish you too many blessings! Ah you and your husband are so lovely! What a blessing it is that God is at the center of your marriage. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Looking forward to reading more of your posts. You're so great! It's so true. My husband and I are the same ages you two were. And yeah, I think marriage is hard, but for what you get out of it, it's a piece of cake. Coming from one that loves taking photos, these are AMAZING!!!!! Wow. Beautiful. IT gives me hope that God is writing my story and that He is in control. <3 The pulse of worship becomes more intense with every line. Hands raised. Hearts open. Over a thousand people sing out an anthem of praise. We draw near to God. God draws near to us. It’s so beautiful that would draw near to each one of us. As I sat in the back of the auditorium after… This is TRUTH in plain form. Love it! I love how our human minds are too small to comprehend His greatness. There's no way in the world we'd ever get it… yet He's SO willing to speak to us and meet us where we are. He's AMAZING and being able to pour my heart out in worship is such a major blessing… it's one of my favorite things to do. Great post! one of my favorite things to think about during prayer is how He is listening to millions of prayers at any given moment. so precious! I LOVE worshipping Him through music. Amen. Beautiful. This is so true. One of my favorite things in this world. Glory bomb:-) xoxo this is true So very very true. I think that God is calling me to rest in His grace. He continually shows me just how far it stretches and how much He has for me and this world. I am desperate to fall more in love with the man that is SO in love with me selflessly and sacrificially. ♥cheche beautiful post my dear! Love this!!! So simple and yet so profoundly true! lovely post, girl. worship in a group, with some great music, is the best. So, so true. Well put..lovee it. :) to god be the glory! amen! it hurts me when i see people just stand there with no emotion siging. you are signing to the king, the god of the universe that saved you…wow…he is amazing to love us when we are so small compaired to this universe, let alone him. beautifuly written! Two words- AMEN, SISTER!!!!! This is so true. I love reading your blog (as always) and it seems like we just have so much in commmon!!! ;) Giving God the Glory! He should compile them and give them to her for a gift at the wedding or set them out for people to see! That is so beautiful! So special. And definitely, as someone said above, a very selfless thing to do to propose on his birthday – taking the attention, in a way, off of himself, and intentionally sharing it – that's a great and loving act, to me. <3 congrats to your brother and kellie! that is a really sweet story! Congratulations to Matt! They look like a lovely couple. That is SO exciting! And I love that they're connected to Life Action! If they (or you!) ever head up there again, let me know! Mountains, no beach! No mountains, how about both…that's the beauty of CA, I get both. But I really choose mountains (minus the windy road car sick feeling I get) they're so majestic!
Beautiful pictures, friend. How cold was that water?!
I agree with you. I need both! A trip to the ocean sometimes and a trip to the mountains sometimes. The ocean is fun, playful and has a certain energy even if you are just lounging. The mountains have a calm, still, serenity to them all the time. Glad you had a great trip. Looks like it was a lot of fun!
awe, what wonderful photos from your trip!! i live in Colorado, so i am definitely a mountain girl!! there is nothing like the mountain air! :)
Mountain for sure. The beach is gorgeous and relaxing, but the montains are more beautiful in my opinion. They're more complex. Every dip and peak, every plant, the rock placement, the way the setting sun looks over the mountain line. it's incredible.
Ah I love the pictures!!
When I want a vacation I am totally a beach girl. But I live so close to the mountains. We don't even have to drive 30 minutes before we are at the bottom of a mountain so I can go all the time. I try not to take that for granted!! We spend alot of our weekends up the mountains!
Wow this looks so lovely!
These photos are gorgeous!!! What an amazing vacation!!! Looks so beautiful and peaceful, love it! Glad you had so much fun!
Yes, I do a lot! I'm more of a mountain person. Though I've never been to the beach… :)
the mountains look beautiful! looks fun!

Your trip looked beautiful!
Looks like the perfect getaway :)… you two are too cute!
I have these weird little fantasies of marrying a lumberjack, culturally diverse, foreigner of a godly man who in love with traveling the world and speaks at least two languages.
so yeah, I would love to go to the mountains given I get to go with this husband I have conjured up in my head. haha
you guys look like you had a blast! i can't wait to hear more… Or read more about your trip!
♥cheche
i love this post! the pictures are beautiful. you are right, the Creator is a master artist. how can anyone not believe in God when there are such beautiful things like what is shown in your photos? :) by the way, i love the bed with the cute pillow! looks like y'all had fun.
Your pictures are so great! I totally agree with you and you couldn't have said it better, it's like you said exactly how I feel when Im out in God's amazing creation, there are no words :)…just peace.
xoxo,Laura
p.s. move to Oregon, we have mountains :)
I'd take the mountains and a babbling brook over the beach any day! These are beautiful pictures… it's SO refreshing to spend time away from the rush of every day living and just enjoy God's creation. We all need that every once in a while!
Absolutely Awestruck!!! Lovely Jennifer!!! I'm a beach and a mountain person ;) xox!
oh my gosh these photos are gorgeous! i especially love how your room looked. i'm glad you guys had a good time and hey, if you ever want to live in the mountains, you should come to alaska! :)
AMEN to summer going by too fast!!! Looks like y'all had fun :)
You are looking' too cute, girl!! I have always thought of myself as a beach girl, but now that I'm getting older I think I might be transforming into a mountains girl. ;) Either way, I love them both.
The tubing adventure looks amazing! :D
Oooh, oooooooh! The pics alone took my breath away. I am a mountain girl, hands down. Lucky for me, I am surrounded by both beaches and mountains so I get the best of both worlds!
I just posted a few days ago on my own blog about this exact same thing! My pics aren't as fabulous as yours are though! Seriously breath-taking scenery! You are lucky girl to have gone on such a vacation!
I'd rather go to the beach for a holiday, but I love mountains, too. I grew up in a valley surrounded by mountains and we always went to the ocean for vacations. The warm Pacific water off the coast of Papua New Guinea and the amazing sea life gets me every time, but the misty mountains covered in trees are beautiful as well.:)
Hi! I'm a new follower! :) I LOVE your blog, and love that you put God first!
I grew up in WA where I had both. :) Love the beach mostly. But your pictures from the mountains are just gorgeous. Looks like fun! xx
I'm a bit of both.
Wow, I am in love with that log cabin. And the view from the window!
I've always lived by a beach but there is something so awe inspiring and magical about the mountains. I could definitely see myself living there when I am an older lady. I say 'older lady' so that means I have some time to learn some practical skills… because you've gotta be handy if you live up there… according to books and movies anyway!
i've always told jordan that if we could just move to the mountains or the beach, i'd be a happy girl. :) i find God's presence loudly in those places, often in the form of a babbling brook or a crashing wave. these places bring me peace and comfort, away from the busy-ness of everyday life that can sometimes be so overwhelming. i'm hoping we can plan a vacation soon, just to give us a couple of days of quiet and rest. beach or mountains: i'd be happy with either! (p.s. would you mind sharing where you guys stayed in the smokeys? it looks beautiful!)
AMEN! Looks truly beautiful. Nothing like a vast stretch of wilderness and the morning sun setting over creeks and tall mountains to remind you of the splendor of God… although, I have to say, I find myself thinking the same thing when I watch the sun set on the beach, so… I suppose I'm in the middle!
*looks like a great trip :)

Your little cabin looked so homey and comfortable! It's so gorgeous there! I would definitely want to hike to a waterfall!
I think I'm definitely a mountain person. I've never been to the beach and still want to, but there is something about breathing the cool morning air, being surrounded by trees, a big blue sky, and beautiful mountains!
So fun! I'm a mountain AND beach person. Thank goodness we had both, where I grew up, right there!
Beautiful pictures! Looks like the perfect getaway trip for a couple as cute as y'all! :)
your little room is so cute, and quaint! absolutely charming :)
*sigh* beautiful and peaceful!! What a wonderful place to vacation. :-) Hope you enjoyed your time there!
I'm heading to the NC mountains this weekend & I canNOT wait to breathe in the fresh, non-humid mountain air :)
We just spent a weekend in Big Sur and I think I may have converted from a beach person to a mountain person! There is something about the clean fresh air that helps me sleep better at night…
such gorgeous pictures, pretty lady! you made me want to be there so much. i'm a beach girl (i've never lived outside of walking distance) but there is something so magical about the mountains. they are always so refreshing.
beautiful trip! wow!
i am a beach AND a mountain girl!
love love love it all!
xo
How lovely!!!
I don't know which girl I really am. I would say at 1st I'm a beach girl, cause really I have spent more time at the beach than the mountains.
How about—I'm a beach girl during the summer, and a mountain girl during the fall and cool months! :)
that place looks so beautiful.
Oh my goodness! That's looks gorgeous! My family loves to go on trips and we are definately moutain people. This looks like it could very easily get on the list for next summer! Where is it? Is there an official name we could find it under or anything of the sort? Thanx! :)
