Sometimes you are lucky enough (or blessed rather) to meet a kindred spirit. It’s pretty easy to know if you’ve ever meet one or not, because you’ll realize it right away. I have met several in my lifetime and for that I am thankful. With every passing year, I am realizing more and more that life is rather…

Monthly Archives: June 2011Do you have dreams and desires that haven’t come to fruition yet? Here is quick video of a recent revelation. I was reading Psalms 37 and found a video by Christy Nockels. It was exactly what I needed today. I needed this today too. =) Good devotional. The Psalms are great for spurring spiritual and seeing our lives in light of God's grandeur. Good post. Think I'll go read Psalm 37. This was a beautiful discussion. You're right – the really BEAUTIFUL thing about the mundane is that it frees our mind in a way that God often uses to reveal Himself to us. If we saw the mundane more like a gift and less like a punishment, if we opened our hearts more to those moments then who know how God would use them. Very inspiring! I absolutely LOVED that you shared your beautiful testimony in the video! Hearing your voice and tone put an emphasis on your words…and they are so true! God wants such wonderful things for us…he wants us to have pure joy. And if we give our hearts and our lives to Him, we will have the life that he wishes for us :) Your faith is inspiring Jennifer. It's been a while since I've read in Psalms…looks like I know what I'm reading with Adam tonight before bed :) Jennifer, I love this! Thank you! Totally feel like you were divinely inspired to do this post. Need it! Thank you! i can relate in the same way, because i am a part-time secretary too & have been for 6 years… i finished school over a year ago but have yet to find a better job… sometimes i feel like my life is going in the opposite direction i want it to. but i have just started reading through the Psalms & God has already shown more of Himself to me through that! no matter what our hopes & dreams are, our biggest desire should always be to seek Him first!!! it is a lesson i am learning… :) thank you for this! i've been stressing over all my thoughts and desires lately, and have been so unsettled with where i am right now in my life. but the Lord is good and faithful, and i need to let his desires be above mine and need to trust in Him in EVERYTHING. so blessed to have caught your post this evening!! I soo needed this today!! I love this! This is a revelation I had myself a few months back…and it's changed my perspective on that verse in such a powerful way. Yes, I have my dreams and desires…but now I really want my dreams and desires to be the dreams and desires that God has for me…not what I have for me. It's a hard road to walk sometimes…but it's a road I definitely enjoy taking. Thanks for this reminder today! I totally needed to hear this today – thanks so much for sharing Well said :) It's too easy to fall into thinking God will give you whatever you want- he has the best wisdom of all! I need to seek God in the mundane things like my summer job and times when I wonder what the point is! Love Zoe xx Thanks for shedding new light on these verses for me. You are a gem :) Beautiful prose…lovely! I found myself praising God! =) Thank you SO much for sharing this. You are such a blessing. This is something I've been meditating on lately as well. This is great. I'm glad you pointed this out that it's not OUR desires He's giving us, but HIS!! So many don't want to know or hear that and think it's all what they want. Seek Him for His desires. ps, your hair looks really dark, did you color it? great post! beautiful testimony of bending our will to His! Thanks so much for this vlog. When I watched it on youtube, it led me to your "from here" video as well. BEAUTIFUL!! Thanks Jen for this great reminder. It was just what I needed to hear as I am in a time of transition from graduate school to the working world and I have been praying for God to open the doors of opportunity for me to do His will for my life. What a great reminder to seek Him in all we do. this was such a lovely post and perfect video. everything you said hits straight home for me and is so, so true. often, we (myself included) tend to get so caught up in our own wishes and desires and forget to follow the One Creator, whose dreams for us as so much bigger than we can imagine. and "invite the simple into the mundane" just became my new mantra. thank you:) That was really good, thanks for sharing. :) I love those verses as well. <3 Thank you for posting this vlog. I really needed it today as well, well this whole week. haha. why not, i need it my whole life! :) I hope you have a good day as well and that God will help you delight in the things He has in store for you. God bless. BEAUTIFUL post love your blog. I wish my voice sounded just as lovely to the ears as yours. ♥cheche love you! Loved this! Just what I needed after a long day of child rearing ;) Such a beautiful reminder that he is in control and has even better plans for me then I could imagine! I am so glad you found me! I love your blog! your layout. YOUR LOVE FOR THE LORD! I'm glad to say we are SISTERS. :) Sister's from the SAME mister…….. kinda. ;) Keep shining for Jesus! :) ALSO: following you on twitter now! —>bunkerboo is me :D Awesome testimony. Thanks for sharing! This was so great!! I love the 'find the glorious in the mundane' quote. Such a good thing to remember jen, i loved this. i think it's so difficult to remember that it is God's plan that will prevail, instead of ours. thank you for the reminder that we ought to invite the glorious into the mundane. several years ago, one of the girls at our church talked about how she had learned in one of her classes at moody bible institute that mark 16:15 is literally "as you are going, make disciples," not "go and make disciples." she talked about how everything we did and said ought to push people closer to Jesus, whether they knew Him or not. and i think inviting the glorious into the mundane, letting Him transform the simplest and most ordinary of actions into something extraordinary, is the way in which we live Him best. Thank you so much for sharing. Such a beautiful testimony! I just found your site yesterday and am glad to have been able to learn so much about you so quickly. It's an inspiring thing to be able to find the beautiful, glorious, Godly moments in our mundane tasks. Thanks again :) I love everything about this. Your heart shines through both your written words & spoken. Beautiful. Oh wow this is awesome! It's so true! That's such a wonderful revelation of such a great verse! He won't give me my desires, but He'll give us HIS desires for our heart! Thank you Jenn!! Invite His glories into the mundane! love this! thanks for sharing your heart girly ;) {Photos via weheartit. I thought they were beautiful.} “Better to love God and die unknown than to love the world and be a hero; better to be content with poverty than to die a slave to wealth; better to have taken some risks and lost than to have done nothing and succeeded at it.” -Erwin… Amen! I'm so glad we have to rely on God because of our weaknesses. :) Love the quote. Amen Sista! Could not have been written any better. Beautiful! xo i was just thinking about that quote yesterday actually. wealth is such a sneaky idol… i always struggle to see myself as rich, but i really am. x I was just reading in 2 Corinthians 12 where He says His power is made perfect in weakness. Such an incredible thought. Loved the quote you shared. That's my hope as well… to be unchained from the things that could tie me down to the world and to live my life pursuing Him and making Him known. Great post. :) those photos are indeed beautiful. And that quote touched my heart!! Thank you SO much for sharing…i'm excited to share it with my Dad. He loves sending my siblings and me "gem thoughts" and he'll love that I send him one :) Absolutely LOVE the 1st part of that quote, 'better to love God and die an unknown…' (of course the whole quote is great) but I would take that 1000x times over being a celebrity, hero, popular with the world any day of the week. I love knowing that I have the security of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and knowing where I'll be when my sin filled bodily self dies away. You have got to be one of the most dedicated people I know! :) What a beautiful post! Thank you! What a wonderful quote. I love it. Beautiful photos; thanks for the encouraging words! That quote is so beautiful! Thanks for this. I need to hear it tonight. :) Beautifully put :) Jennifer so nice to meet you and your lovely blog. Thanks for stopping by DoublClik, and liking it enough to keep tabs. Glad to have you! I'll be checking on you more too! Saludos de Mexico, What an absolutely beautiful and inspiring post. That quote is a fantastic reminder of how our lives should be lived! what a perfect quote…. and what a tough thing to achieve. I mean really, we think we are doing that, but are we REALLY? Great way to get me thinking!! What an awesome post. Love that quote. Beautiful pictures! I love the quote! Wow.. beautiful quote.. that is what I long to be too.. you put it beautifully. Great quote; good comments. Jim Elliot didn’t write this in his journal after he had gotten to the mission field. He didn’t write it right before he became a martyr. He wasn’t even married yet, nor did he know that he would be one day. He wrote it before he even boarded the ship to sail to Ecuador. It was in… Totally needed to hear that. I havent been able to find a job yet and I feel like a failure, but yet I just need to know that I am being successful in the Lord even if I dont have what he has in his plan for me yet. Thank you for posting this! 'the less I am, the greater His power in my life.' AMEN! In HIM and Him alone does anything matter and He's the one I want to live for, not others and their acceptance. Sigh. Convicting! And yet freeing. My fiance mentioned this too me. How I focus too much on the results. I'm studying Ecclesiastes and learning similar things. Need to remember this. Such a powerful reminder! Thank you beautiful put jen. thank you. What a great reminder! It's so easy to get caught up in what the world considers successful but what really matters is following Christ. Thank you for sharing this! :). thank you for encouraging and reminding me of the GOD we serve and the lives we are called to live. your a great sister of faith to have :). ♥cheche wow thank you so much for this much needed reminder. it's so relieving on one hand to think that we don't have to adhere to the world's standard of success… but at the same time… God's standards are sooo much higher. but i guess the great thing is that he enables us to do what he wants us to do. thank you soo much for the great post. i love jim and elisabeth elliot and i wanna be a missionary in the future just like them :) x I'm always looking to other people's lives, seeing what they have and what's different. I should be comparing myself to God and delighting in Him! Beautiful reminder, powerful and true. Such an incredible reminder! Thank you for sharing… this is something I subconsciously forget so often.. Jennifer, this is so very well said. I love that Jim Elliot quote (this is the first time I've seen it, so thank you), and I especially love that it was said/written so long before he "accomplished" anything by the world's standards. It just goes to show that what we're doing — even in the mundane-est of tasks — matters to Someone bigger. Thank you for putting such time and effort in sharing such wise words with your readers. They serve as a powerful reminder. So beautifully written, and such words of wisdom to our hearts! LOVE THIS! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! And I love seeing your love story with God unfold. It is just melodious! i can relate to these feelings so much. thank you for sharing. i needed to think deeper on these issues. You are an inspiration. Rough day today but thank you for a beautiful ending. I'm more than thrilled that you found me since now I found YOU!!! this has been on my heart so much! absolutely beautiful post Exactly what I have been thinking about! You are so inspiring. I love your blog!! I have been awarded the versatile blogger award and I'm passing it on to you. Pick it up at http://blondegirl34.blogspot.com/2011/06/and-yes-we-are-versatile.html |

Aw, from the looks of it, you guys had a blast! Considering the fact that you and Arielle met online, just goes to prove that God works in mysterious ways when placing others in our paths :)
That is so great that you two were able to forge such a great friendship online. You looked like you had a great time together.
And also, I can commiserate. Jon and I don't know any couples married in their 20s either. :( We're the only ones even remotely close to where we live, and so we don't have a lot of social interactions. :( So I can completely relate, love.
Oh my goodness that is so awesome you got to meet her! I love her blog as well as yours. It's even better you connected so well. The only bad part about meeting blogger friends is leaving and knowing you live so far away from each other!
Two of my fav bloggers in one place, how cool!! The Lord has amazing ways of bringing people into your life when you really need them and it seems that He has done that for the two of you. Looks like an amazing night!
I totally feel you on the young married couples bit! My husband and I got married at 22 & 21 (both graduated from college) and people still acted like we were children. including my in-laws, who 2 years later still haven't gotten over it.
I love that you were able to meet such a sweet friend though! always a blessing to have another great friend :)
That is so neat that ya'll got to meet eachother! Sounds like ya'll had fun together!:) By the way…you two are so very pretty and your dresses are too cute!
How cool is that?! The whole building strong friendships via the internet thing was not something I saw coming when I started blogging either. I love that you found a kindred spirit!
And yeah, I think people are just getting married older. When we got married at 21, people thought we were crazy!
Love the polaroids! Hopefully your paths will cross again soon!
I love finding kindred spirits, though I've yet to meet one on the internet! I'm glad you two could meet up and have such a wonderful time together!

Two of my favorite bloggers meeting up is wonderful to hear about, especially because you both know the Lord and are striving to follow Him. I'm so glad that you found a kindred spirit in Arielle. What a blessing this online community is to meet and make friends with godly Christian women!
I love you 2 got to meet! How awesome and what a wonderful time it looks like you all had.
I can't wait for my chance when I get to meet one of you in person.
MOVE TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!! People are getting married in their twenties out here like it is going out of style both believers and non-believers alike. lol Just kidding you don't have to move.
Unless you wanted to of course…
:).
I love what you wrote about Arielle and I love her blog and YOURS missy for the exact same reasons. Even though you ladies are miles away from me you strengthen, encourage/exhort and challenge me in my walk with Christ constantly and for that I am truly blessed to know you even if never in person. Love ya chica!!

Bellissime foto e bellissime voi !!!
That's really nice that you guys met up! I wondered if you knew each other :)
It is nice to see other young married couples and hear about how life is for you- we got married at 18 and 19 and it can be difficult without other people in similar situations around!
Great to be such a good example. Zoe xxx
I love your outfit!
What a great experience! It still amazes me how the internet can bring people together whose paths would probably never cross without it!
Beautiful post!
oh yay! that looks so fun. finding other "couple friends" can be so hard; we're reaching the age, too, where all of a sudden people are having babies… and that's not where we are right now. it's like we're at some weird in-between stage. where are all the young marrieds?! :)
How awesome that you were able to meet and spend time together! You and Arielle are amongst my favorite bloggers. Your love for the Lord and creative use of the medium inspire me to blog more often, and to blog with purpose.
so excited you got to meet Arielle!! I love reading her blog and seeing her pictures. She is a very talented and Godly woman!
Love this! You two girls are so inspirational (and beautiful, obviously) and I look forward to both of your posts! xox!
This is so awesome! That would be a dream come true to meet up with a fellow blogger :)
That is so wonderful Jennifer! Arielle is amazing! I would love to sit down and chat with both of you girls! Looks like a wonderful time!

hooray for kindred spirits. the to of you are gorgeous!
I came here through Arielle's blog and I'm your newest subscriber. :)
how fun is that! I love arielles blog! she is so lucky to meet you too! And you're right, there aren't many of us young marrieds. It's weird being married. Sometimes boys flirt with me and I tell them I'm married and they're shocked. They don't even look for a ring because they figure someone as young as us won't be married! HAHA!
Wow, What a great post and a great story!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I look forward to reading more from you.
I love arielle! and I love you! You two are both so encouraging to me. I am a younger lady who has hope to marry young. Seeing your lives play out for the Lord always encourages me!
Delaney, thank you so much!
Alexis, that happens to me too. Haha! Actually, the a kid in the grocery store tried to hit on me just yesterday! Haha.
